I have had the good fortune of enjoying the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival twice with the support of good friends who made it all possible. I went in 2015 and again in 2019 and have been thoroughly immersed in the music and the culture that is New Orleans. At the heartbeat of the culture are the Mardi Gras Indians. I was fortunate to see several tribes perform and march in second lines throughout the festival. I have assembled a collection of those memories within this gallery. There is no other place in the world (that I know of) that celebrates such a deep and colorful tradition.
