Newport Jazz Fest 2012 - Sunday
The 2012 Sunday Newport Jazz Festival was jam packed with cutting edge jazz music - orchestras, vocalists and the top of the field instrumentalists - trumpets, clarinets, drums, pianos and basses. The closer was the Tedeschi Trucks band which is an amalgam of blues pop and jazz with Tedeschi knocking out powerful soulful and sweet vocals and Trucks demonstrating master class slide guitar leads with a style distinctly his own. I migrated among the three stages to catch what I could on film. Consider that after and around performing my driving duties for Festival I am then able to photograph; however, the rule is that only the first 3 songs are open for photography. Within is what I was able to venture to and hear. For the end of the Tedeschi-Trucks I briefly went into the crowd for some wider views. I am almost embarrassed by the number of Susan Tedeschi frames I collected but I'm not apologizing. She's a great singer and a fine player and looks good on film.
