Melissa Manchester performed at the Greenwich Odeum on March 25th with a back up band of 4 who played on several songs but sat some out when a supporting video was played with orchestration or choir support added. On a couple occasions the band played with the video. Ms. Manchester’s show was very well delivered and her vocal strength undeniable. She has a very powerful voice. Over her career she has won a Grammy and distinguishes herself as the only woman to be nominated twice for an Academy Award.
Most notable for me is her song craft of which I had not been aware before this show. She began writing songs young in life and has collaborated with others on and off to create some memorable hits. I enjoyed watching a pro take comfortable command of the stage and to deliver. I appreciate the folks at the Greenwich Odeum for the opportunity to collect some photographic memories of the show.
