A vacation visit from May 17-24, 2015 took us to La Cabana Beach Resort in Aruba. The accommodations and staff were warm and welcoming. The island is very "Americanized" and no currency transfer is needed while the USD is valued at 1.75 AFN (Aruba's Florin). All modern amenities are present and the south eastern side of the island are loaded with high rise hotels and casinos. The beaches are pristine and the water still a little cool on entry but a quick adjustment occurs. The restaurants are amazing and the fish, superb. This was a VERY relaxing visit with no particular things planned to do or to see. Each day was a new adventure. I highly recommend this island which is a mere 20 miles from Venezuela. The island is 95% crime free and feels very safe. Enjoy my photos which are a summary of some of what we saw and did.
