New York City by Boat
New York City by Boat
The Circle Line at 42nd Street (Pier 83) offers a wonderful boat tour around Manhattan. The full trip ran 3 hours and covered 35 miles. The boat went under 19 bridges and had one train bridge open for us to allow passage into the Hudson River. The power of the city is palpable and I hope it translates through some of these images. The boat was the actual boat which responded in the rescue of the passengers and crew on The Miracle on The Hudson when a jet liner was landed in the river. She also was called into service on 9-11 and shuttled 30,000 passengers off the island to safety. At 500 people per trip I count 60 round trips to New Jersey. Enjoy Manhattan, named by the Native American Lenape People as Manna Hata (Island of many hills).
